Music and Worship

Welcome to the worship and music department! Worship and music plays a very vital role in the life and fabric of our church. Our worship philosophy is based on two simple but profound premises. The first is that God is seeking you, and secondly that your heart is seeking God. As such we believe our main task as a worship ministry is to help be a bridge between God's seeking of you and your desire for God. We are your musical servants!

If you wish to know a bit more in depth about our philosophy of ministry here are three terms to consider.

Languages of worship

While worship and music are essential in the Christian life there is no one correct way or better “style” in which to worship. All of us of course come with our preferences based both on our upbringing and our current tastes. At LifeSpring we try to provide a broad spectrum of worship styles in order to serve as many people as possible.

Multi-generational

At LifeSpring one of our core values is that we value all generations. As such our worship planning is mindful of the different needs of different generations.

Contemporary

Our worship is contemporary in that we believe it is vital that we be in touch with the current culture. It has less to do with “style” than with awareness of what will communicate best in our present culture. (You will hear and experience many styles, from classical to the latest Wow CD) Thus we make use of media, video, drama, and contemporary worship styles.

If you want to get involved we truly do have a place for you. We certainly welcome all and try and make room for people to use their talents and gifts as well as placing a priority on developing talents as they emerge.

Some opportunities include:

Adult Choir

Everyone welcome! No auditions. Just breathe in breathe out and you’re in! We sing approximately 3 out of 4 Sundays. We are also more than a choir. We are a family that prays for and supports one another.

Worship Teams

Worship teams are smaller groups of singers that assist the worship leader in leading worship. Teams rotate and rehearse on Sunday mornings.

Band

We have a contemporary band. We try and make room for all and rotate positions based on numbers and needs. If you play an instrument I want to know!

Children’s Choir

We have an exciting children’s choir that rehearses once a week throughout the season. We sing usually once a month and also present more major musicals.

Middle School Girl’s Choir

We have a group of girls who love to sing. We teach more advanced concepts like singing in harmony and reading music with a balance between contemporary music more traditionally choral music.

Drama Team

We believe drama can convey messages in a powerful way. If you like to act, we can use you! Drama is used occasionally to enhance our worship as well as during more major productions and events through-out the year.

Media

We love you techies! Lots of opportunities, in sound, video, and other multimedia.
