When We Work Together We Can Accomplish Great Things!
Saving Cows

“If you have a bit encouragement from being united with Christ, or any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interest of others." Philippians 2:1-4

A Colorado rancher had trouble naming his ranch.”I wanted to name it the Bar-J. My wife favored Suzy-Q, one of our sons wanted the Flying-J and the other liked the Lazy-Y. So we’re calling it the Bar-J-Suzy-Q-Flying-W-Lazy-Y”. “But where are all your cattle?” A friend asked. “None survived the branding.”

Being a Christian means being a part of the body of Christ. As part of the body, we have to look beyond simply what we want and consider the needs of the whole body. Without disregarding our own needs, we work for the betterment of all. Compromising with integrity is an important part of our life together and can help us all to achieve the results we seek. Not everyone gets their way, but the results make compromise worthwhile - and the cows will all survive!

PRAYER: Lord, in all situations, help me to thoughtfully express my beliefs, listen to others and be willing to work towards a mutually satisfactory result.

FAMILY: Has there been a time recently where you have tried to work out a conflict with someone? How did it go? Was there a better way to deal with the conflict?
